Here’s What’s New to Netflix in July 2021

The summer movie season is alive and well – and not just in theaters!

Netflix is in full summer swing, which means there are a whole lot of new movies and TV shows for you to watch this July! As usual, the streaming service has a hefty batch of original films and series, as well as some old favorites filling out their library titles. So whether you’re looking for a summer movie to watch at home, a new series to binge-watch over the weekend, or something you can watch with the whole family, there’s pretty much something for everyone in this month’s new-to-Netflix lineup.

In the realm of original movies, Netflix is unveiling a rather fascinating new approach to releasing a film trilogy with Fear Street. The first film, Fear Street Part One: 1994 arrives on Friday, July 2, followed by weekly sequel drops with Fear Street Part Two: 1978 on July 9 and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on July 16. Directed by Leigh Janiak and inspired by the beloved R.L. Stine books, the trilogy unfolds an interweaving tale of terror set across multiple timelines and it’s a must-watch for horror fans. Other new Netflix Original standouts include the action movie Gunpowder Milkshake, starring Lena Headey and Karen Gillan, and if you’re looking for something lighter, Resort to Love offers a sun-soaked new rom-com produced by Alicia Keys and starring Christina Milian.

As for the original series in July, it’s jam-packed! Returning series include Never Have I Ever, Outer Banks, Atypical, Virgin River, and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. New debuts include Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, The Cook of Castamar, My Unorthodox Life, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and the truly wild-looking new dating show Sexy Beasts. There are also a number of network favorites adding their latest seasons on Netflix, including Grey’s Anatomy Season 17, The Walking Dead Season 10, and The Flash Season 7.

Check out the complete list of new movies and shows on Netflix below.
