  UPDATE: Police confirmed one man suffered a gunshot wound in a shooting incident that happened Thursday afternoon near Motel 6 and Menards in Davenport.

  Davenport Police responded to the 100 block of West 65th Street at approximately 2:52 p.m. in reference to a report of shots fired, a news release says.

  Preliminary information indicated subjects in two different vehicles were involved in a dispute, with shots being fired from at least one of the vehicles.

  Police say the vehicles fled in different directions.

  Officers also responded to Motel 6 in reference to an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

  The officers on scene provided immediate medical treatment until medical personnel arrived.

  The victim was transported by Medic EMS to Genesis Hospitals.

  Police say it was determined the shooting victim was related to the shots fired call.

  Officers following up on information obtained on scene indicated subjects involved in the shots fired call “possibly ran towards Menards.”

  Several additional officers responded and coordinated a search with the business.

  Menards was closed for approximately one hour, and no suspects were located within the premises.

  The shooting victim is being treated for a non-life threatening injury. The area businesses have resumed normal operations.

  Detectives are investigating the incident. No further information is available at this time.
